Have finished sawing up the IKEA shelving to get what I was after, and the new floating shelves are doing quite well. I still need to sand down the stabiliser blocks a tad, but they can be pounded into place fairly well as it stands ( Read more... )

The larger set of shelves is taking shape. Taking a short break now to recharge the flat batteries on the power drill and practice guitar.

Interesting fact - even in the wee small hours when it's relatively cool outside, sitting in my den with the window and both doors wide open is still noticeably warm in one spot - right in front of the computer screens ( Read more... )

OK. I've taken the den to pieces and rebuilt it around the video display I should have shortly once the widget for holding up the screens arrives.

Currently the only things operating in here are the internet connection, the wireless link, the network switch, the firewall, and my workstation using what will become the ( leftmost monitor in the five-screen setup. )

Friday at work = fewer phone calls. So in between dealing with gouts of email (and who keeps putting a dozen or more emails in my queue when I'm at lunch?), I came up with an awesome way to rearrange my home den.

( Because when you have a humungous den, you want to make the most of it. )

Getting a little antsy, and needing something to occupy mind and body, I've been measuring up the upstairs rooms and thinking about what to put where when the removalists arrive (theoretically in six days).

I've come to the conclusion that I have lots of room, but little idea of what to do with it.
